Kızılot and the Manavgat Delta: Antalya's Quiet Beaches and River Wetlands
A Beach That Stretches On and On
Kızılot's main appeal is gloriously simple: a wide ribbon of soft sand that runs for kilometres along the Mediterranean, backed by low dunes and a scattering of beach cafes. Even in high summer, you can walk a few minutes from the main access points and find a quiet patch all to yourself. The water is clean and gently shelving, which makes it ideal for young swimmers and anyone who likes to wade in slowly.
Unlike the busier resort strips around Side or Alanya, Kızılot hasn't been overrun by high-rise hotels. Development here is low-key—family-run pensions, a handful of beach bars, and the occasional campsite. The result is a shoreline that still feels natural, where you can hear the waves instead of a wall of music.
Sun loungers and umbrellas are available at a few spots, often free with a drink or a light lunch. But the real pleasure is simply spreading your towel, digging your toes into the sand, and watching the light change over the Taurus Mountains in the distance.
